The aromatic smoke offering
This is a wonderful ritual to ring in the "Tibetan New Year" Everyone can participate by offering a plate of blessed substance and chanting the mantra.
we will all offer a plate of aromatic "white " substance (butter, biscuit, milk, oats, barley flour, incense etc)
The text is very meaningful- we offer it to the Buddhas , Yidams, protectors and all sentient beings especially those we owe karmic debts to .
The mantra is very short - just the 3 seed syllables Om, Ah, Hung .
If attending in person, you are welcome to bring incense, butter, yoghurt, biscuit, honey or sugar for the offering.(please bring your offerings by 9.30am so they can be included) If attending on zoom you are welcome to sponsor some offering substances.

The mantra of Chenrezig is the most widely known and practiced mantra amongst Vajrayana Buddhists OM MANI PADME HUNG
Chenrezig is love and compassion in its purest form. When we practice Chenrezig we connect to the purest love , the pure love of all Enlightened beings, that continuously and spontaneously manifests , radiating to all without exception. We connect to our essence, our pure innate love and compassion as well as the pure love that is the essence of all beings.
We visualize and practice being who we truly are, ie pure, spontaneous love and compassion.. At first it is temporary , then slowly slowly we become what we already are , we manifest as Chenrezig.
Everyone is welcome to attend. If you are not familiar with the text, chanting the mantra in our mind is a wonderful way to engage with the practice . We use a very short text , spending most time on mantra recitation.
New Year’s Day Retreat/ Workshop
Our annual retreat blends written contemplations with meditations, encouraging reflection on the past year and setting intentions for the year ahead. By focusing on what truly matters, we cultivate a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
As we step into 2026, reflecting on the challenges of living in an unpredictable world can deepen our insight, stabilize our focus, and support us in processing its impact.
This year’s retreat will also include New Year’s messages from HH Chamgon Tai Situ Rinpoche and other Buddhist Lamas. Each participant will have a butter lamp to offer as part of the retreat.
This retreat welcomes everyone, regardless of meditation or retreat experience.
